ABSTRACT
In this project a program for handling the transient stability of an electrical power system network is developed. The project analysis can be divided into three parts. The first part is the load flow analysis using fast decoupled load flow method. The reason for choosing the fast decoupled load flow method being its simplicity, high speed and low memory requirement. The second part deals with transient stability analysis using Modified Euler’s Method. This method has been used owing to its simplicity and high accuracy. The third part is the engagement between the load flow analysis and the transient stability analysis.
The program developed by combining load flow analysis and transient stability analysis gives the ability to monitor the system stability. The methodology is built upon a state of increasing power transfer through the healthy portion of the network during disturbances. This new program has been applied to a 5 bus system and stability of this system is analyzed [1]
