INTRO:

Till time, we’ve dealt with classical pedagogical methods. Though it is the most traditional way of learning things, it often suffers with inherent inconsistencies. Teachers will have to keep several things in mind when they supposedly take over. This classical pedagogy lacks flexibility, richness and downstream functionalities.

To settle all these setbacks, a new technique has been brought out termed as

E-Learning.Electronic learning or E-Learning is a general term used to refer to computer-enhanced learning. It is used interchangeably in so many contexts that it is critical to be clear what one means when one speaks of 'E-Learning'. In many respects, it is commonly associated with the field of advanced learning technology (ALT), which deals with both the technologies and associated methodologies in learning using networked and/or multimedia technologies. E-learning services have evolved since computers were first used in education. There is a trend to move toward blended learning services, where computer-based activities are integrated with practical or classroom-based situations.

CODE-F is an e-learning system being developed by WIPRO Technologies which exemplifies an e-learning system.

In this project we implement one of the various modules of CODE-F (Bulk Registration Service Module) where a service is provided to the college administrator to register their students and authors bulky.

The pedagogical approaches can be difficult to set up and slow to develop, though they have the potential to provide more engaging learning experiences for students. Somewhere between these extremes is an ideal pedagogy that allows a particular educator to effectively create educational materials while simultaneously providing the most engaging educational experiences for students.

Our project like other modules in CODE-F, implements a unique functionality which will be used by other applications and modules.

Project Description

Registration Service implements functionality for college admin to register students and authors bulky. College admin has to download excel template that is provided by the application. After the filling the data in the template, they have to upload to the application.

Register Student

This functionality is used by the college admin to register students bulky. After receiving student’s information, it generates an auto password and updates back to excel sheet.

Register Author

This functionality is used by the college admin to register students bulky. After receiving author’s information, it generates an auto password and updates back to excel sheet.

Proposed Environment and technology

· VWD 05 Express and IIS web server are required

· C#.net and Asp.net (Web Parts/ Web Pages) should be used.

· Developed on Windows platform only.

Assumptions and dependencies

This project depends on most of the services.

Deliverables

1. Bin Folder, all .aspx, ascx, css, web.config.global.asax

2. A unit test project has to be created using N-Units Framework.

3. An acceptance test criteria module : All the cases should pass

Success Criteria

The project is considered as a success provided all the modules are delivered and works functionally correct with the acceptance test criteria module described above in the deliverables.

Future Scope and Conclusion

Future Scope

• This implementation is confronted to a college rather a University which provides a handsome E-learning portal to them for the students to study for a fee.
• The implementation between them is still in terms of documents. The implementation could improve in these areas of communication and document preservation as well as client maintenance.
• If the technology advances this portal may even work on mobiles thus, there could be an increased flexibility.
• The current portal can be extended to multiple enterprises i.e. can be reused thus by reducing the development costs that one will have to incur for the second time.

Conclusion:

• This module is one of the 56 modules in the portal E-learning system (given by Wipro Technologies).
• This module provides a functionality where a college admin can register his college students/authors in a bulky manner.
• This module has been appreciated by the organization and all the other associated people with this module.
• The usage of software increases the efficiency, decreases the effort.
• It is thoroughly tested and implemented.
