ABSTRACT:

An interactive Web based API for Remote Database Control that runs as a CGI script using Apache web server to provide solution to a database management from a common interface. This tool explores the best usage of Perl: DBI module, which is a database application programming interface (API) for the Perl language and allows users to access multiple MySQL instances transparently.

This tool uses CGI which is one of the most powerful methods of providing content on the web. The approach is to separate most of the query management functions from the desktop front end and centralize them on an application server. Here the server presents the database to the client as a multidimensional environment and thus carries a Relational Online Analytic Processing (ROLAP) architecture.

This tool uses its generic interface in calling external programs to query the databases and perform the server-side tasks. Using this tool, user is hassle free of Underlined mechanics of 3GL layer (SQL) to interact with MySQL Database, Ability to connect to any MySQL instance in the network, Maintain the Database from one central location, Entrenched with User-friendliness as the scripts are developed in keeping view of end-user, Reduces time in performing DDL and DML statements with a single mouse click.
