Abstract:

The task of the project involved the design and implementation of the Cargo Handling for Roadways. The system is using various screen formats and menus for data entry with necessary error handling capabilities. Utmost care has been taken to make the system less error prone.

NEED FOR THE PROJECT:

In this mechanical world, time seems to be a precious thing. Keeping time as a vital factor that transportation has been developed, it implements the storage and retrieval system of day-to-day activities which involves daily transaction report, monthly wise report on goods delivered, report on advance bookings of transportation and enquires which enables us to provide efficient and accurate methods of organizing and accessing different types of information.

SYNOPSIS:

Data is increasingly regarded as a vital co-operate resource which must be organized, so as to maximize there value. In modern, world, fast access to data, steady reaction to problem, fast resource to customers and fast response to information needs the vital aspect in the competitive field. The usage files and databases is solution for a flexible system and optimal use of computer facilities. Hence, the project of implementation.

The project aims to implement the Cargo Handling for Roadways using VISUAL BASIC on WINDOWS 98 environment.

The process of computerization involves a front end to eliminate the manual procedures. In the back end an on-line system is provided to enable the various activities to be performed on a day-to-day basis.

The system is flexible since it implemented in VISUAL BASIC so that it provides user friendly menu-driven software with online help and validation features for accurate data capture, data storage and retrieval and any changes arising out can we done with out affecting change in the design specification.

CONCLUSION:

The project is full fledged and user friendly, End users will be lightened in using this software because it is easy to have bills and reports and mostly all contents to be entered are to selected from combo box. This reduces the calculating efforts to be carried out by the users.

SCOPE FOR ENHANCEMENT:

This Application is designed to be generic .as we develop our site we should take advantage of several areas in which you can improve and customize business.

Automatic notification of newly placed orders to the company’s Shipping or processing department. We are trying to include different kinds of products, which are needed by the customer in their day to day life, and many more facilities for the customers.

Credit card facilities will be include for making the payment easy for the customer. service charge will be there for credit cards. addition of a procedure to verify the user’s credit card information.
