Abstract:
With the great revolution in internet, life has become easier for the end user. He is now able to access minute information across the globe sitting in front of his system. The present project “Development of an Internet Banking System” aims to provide the best services to the end user, enabling him to access banking facilities at his desktop without making several trips to the bank. Before going in detail understanding the project development, there are some terms which one needs to acquaint with.
What is e-Banking?
“Internet banking” refers to system that enables bank customers to access accounts and general information on bank products and services through a personal computer (PC) or other intelligent device.
Some examples of wholesale products and services include:
- Cash management.
- Wire transfer.
- Automated clearinghouse (ACH) transactions.
-Bill presentment and payment.
Examples of retail and fiduciary products and services include:
- Balance inquiry.
- Funds transfer.
- Downloading transaction information.
-Bill presentment and payment.
- Loan applications.
- Investment activity.
• Other value-added services.

Hardware Requirements:

Ø Pentium IV Processor

Ø 128MB RAM

Ø 20GB Hard disc space

Ø Ethernet card with an Internet and Internet zone

Ø Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Enterprise Edition

System Analysis Requirement Specification

Our Internet banking portal provides secure access to users accounts from anywhere in the world.

Here you can perform almost all transactions for which you need to visit a branch. For example, you can:

View account information

Generate account statement

Verify cheque status

Transfer funds to your own accounts across the country

Transfer funds to other bank accounts across the country

Enquire about the balance

Send money orders anywhere anytime

Additional Functional Components

· User is allowed to deposit into his account through Credit Card by providing the corresponding PIN number.

· He can also request for application of credit card or a debit card, apply for loans as well as create accounts.

· Proper help is provided for the convenience of the user.

· Required security tips and FAQs are also provided for the user.

· Customer care services are available round the clock in order to clarify all the queries.

· User can even post the queries to the bank’s email address which are replied immediately.


Conclusion:
This system is implemented fulfilling all the client requirements. The interfaces designed for the system are user friendly and attractive.
The system has successfully implemented the banking transactions like balance enquiry, funds transfer(inter bank and intra bank), smart money order, viewing the profile of the user and transaction statements(mini statement and detailed statement).
The system has been tested at the development site and is awaiting the response of the client.
Future scope of the project:
This project is having a broad future scope as it can be extended to provide services to the customers on line.
We know that the internet is fast expanding. Hence the future scope would be to evolve with the growing internet.
One feature which one could expect in the future could be “GLOBALIZATION” which would enable users across the globe to understand and hence make the system more understandable and reliable worldwide.
